25 September 2018

There’s so much happening at Salaam Foundation and Salaamedia as the year draws to a close that it’s becoming difficult to keep track of it all. So here is a simple guide to help keep you up to date and on track.

28 September 2018 – 19 October 2018

The #Pens4Peace Art, Graffiti and Poetry exhibition at the Trade Route Mall. Using creativity as a means of protest against all forms of war and violence across the globe. Submit an artwork to be exhibited or come in and complete a simple “peace” of art at the mall. The art will focus on conflict areas in Africa, Palestine, Syria, Kashmir, Burma etc. There will also be actual #Pens4Peace on sale.

7 October 2018 – 12 October 2018

The #Pens4Peace walk from Sharpeville to the Union Buildings in Pretoria. We will be passing through Lenasia, Soweto, Ridgeway, Auckland Park, Houghton, Linbro Park, Marlboro, Kelvin, Atteridgeville and Pretoria. We plan to hand over a memorandum calling on the SA government to stick to the moral high ground and call for an end to global violence.

We will be starting in Maputo, Mozambique, heading into South Africa and then into Swaziland then back again into South Africa and onto Maseru, Lesotho and finally ending in Johannesburg on the 27 January 2019.
