De Deur – The owner of Fred’s Hardware in De Deur, Zaheer Asmal was kidnapped earlier this morning.
In footage captured by a CCTV camera, Asmal is seen arriving in his white bakkie around 7:30am. Shortly thereafter he was
approached by two men wearing caps.
The two men forcefully dragged Asmal towards a charcoal grey Toyota double-cab bakkie before a third man wearing a black shirt and blue work pants jumped out to assist.
Members of the public are being asked to look out for the bakkie with registration number FT 00 BC GP.
Kidnappings have been on the rise in Gauteng over the past few months with Indian business owners being targeted.
