Israeli forces launched fresh airstrikes against Tehran and Beirut on Tuesday. The strikes targeted military sites and state television facilities.
The Israeli military expanded its operations into Lebanon this week in response to Hezbollah firing rockets into northern Israel. Hezbollah’s actions were a retaliation for the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Lebanese officials reported that at least 52 people died in recent bombardments.
Tens of thousands of civilians have fled their homes in Beirut. Many residents expressed anger at Hezbollah for dragging Lebanon into the war. The Israeli army has ordered the evacuation of over 50 Lebanese villages, stating that operations will continue until the “threat” is eliminated.
