#ChampionPeople: Rehana Moosajee – the woman whose purpose is to connect people

by Zahid Jadwat

She considers herself an African, a Muslim and a woman with a purpose to connect people to themselves, each other and the natural environment. This is Rehana Moosajee, the founder of The Barefoot Facilitator.

After 13 years of service, Moosajee left her position at the City of Johannesburg to start Rehana Moosajee Consulting. This company was later redesigned to become The Barefoot Facilitator.

Rehana Moosajee was featured on The Ashraf Garda Show on Salaamedia. You can watch the full interview here. You can listen to The Ashraf Garda Show on Salaamedia every weekday from 8am to 10am SAST.

Moosajee explained that she felt ‘The Barefoot Facilitator’ is consistent with “facilitating authentic conversations” in organisations.

Speaking about her purpose, Moosajee said she wants to reconnect people with themselves, other people and the natural environment around them. She said it is important to bridge the communication gap because people tend to disconnect from each other whilst being heavily conscious of having to be “politically correct”.

“My work is focused on bringing a different way of getting people to talk to each other in ways that often don’t happen,” she said.
