US President Donald Trump hosted a policy meeting on Wednesday at the White House to discuss the future of Gaza after the nearly two-year-long genocidal war.
The meeting, which lasted over an hour, included former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who previously served as a senior adviser on the Middle East.
The discussions reportedly covered a range of critical issues, including plans for post-war governance, the ongoing hostage crisis, and strategies to increase humanitarian aid to the famine-stricken region.

US envoy Steve Witkoff described the plan being formulated as “very comprehensive” and “robust,” reflecting what he termed as “President Trump’s humanitarian motives.” While details of the Gaza policy meeting remain scarce, the White House confirmed that the president “wants the war to end, and he wants peace and prosperity for everyone in the region.”
This high-level Gaza policy meeting occurs as Israel continues its military operations in Gaza City. The United Nations and other international bodies have expressed alarm at Israeli plans to evacuate the city, stating that a full-scale offensive could have a “horrific humanitarian impact” and may amount to forcible transfer. The UN Security Council, with the exception of the US, recently called the famine in Gaza a “man-made crisis” and demanded that Israel lift all restrictions on humanitarian aid.
The bombardment has resulted in a devastating human toll. According to the health ministry, nearly 62 900 people have been killed in Gaza. The Gaza policy meeting’s outcomes are yet to be seen, but the involvement of figures like Blair and Kushner suggests a concerted effort to shape the region’s future.
