Update: Mbalula: The British and American must lift sanctions on Zimbabwe. They must come to the party and invest in the compensation of land redistribution. They must come to the party and Zimbabwe will be a better country.

Update:

Update:

Update: Mabula: The people of South Africa are not interested in our squabbles. They want to know how we will deal with loadshedding, corruption and how we will drive the economy.

Mabula has promised the country will see a more “decisive ANC that will not go to bed without discipline”. An ANC “of solidarity with the people of Palestine, Sahara and Cuba”. Any disciplinary issues will be immediately attended to by the disciplinary committee.

Update: Mbalula: Here, it is democratic centralism and the centre must hold whether you like it or not. We will engage with aggrieved members and ensure it does not spill over. If you don’t want to follow the party line, you belong elsewhere.

Update:

Update: Mbalula confirms that former ANC Women’s League president Bathabile Dlamini and Andile Lungisa have been allowed to stand for positions in the ANC NEC. They were previously excluded due to them having criminal convictions. He said the matter was discussed during NEC nominations at plenary and the decision was taken based on the ANC constitution.

Update: Mbalula: The 6th administration inherited a battered economy. And we had to deal with the pandemic, which was a big setback. We are beginning to see signs of recovery so good days are ahead of us. We need to tighten our grip and be decisive on what needs to be done.

Update: Mbalula: If it were up to me, I would resign as Minister of Transport now. But we need to engage the president – it could be Monday or after SONA that I resign; it could be any time.

Update: Mbalula apologised for the delays during the National Elective Conference but even with these, he believes it “was a resounding success”.

Update: Newly-elected Secretary General of the ANC, Fikile Mbalula briefs the media for the first time.

Mbalula: The ruling party should lead by example and not have administrative issues as we have had over the past two days. We should address this decisively.
