Local – As Ramadan comes to an end, many have embraced the month through prayer, reflection, and good deeds. But for others, it may have felt like it slipped away.

That quiet feeling of not doing “enough” was at the heart of Ashraf Gangrekar’s message on Salaamedia. He reassured those who didn’t make the most of the month, reminding them that spiritual connection isn’t measured by how much you’ve done but by the sincerity behind even the smallest act.

At the start of Ramadan, he explained, “There’s a group of people who weren’t quite ready for Ramadaan.” As the month goes on, the guilt of feeling that way can quickly set in, especially when comparing yourself to others.

He shared a conversation with a young person who felt disconnected during the final stretch of the month and how hard it is to keep up with the worship and community spirit surrounding them.

Gangrekar said this feeling is more common than people think. That’s why it’s important not to compare your journey to someone else’s. “Don’t sell yourself short… A moment of sincere dua could be better than a year’s prayer,” he reminded listeners.

He encouraged people to focus inward—on sincerity, not performance. It’s not about how much you’ve done but how present and honest your heart is in the remaining moments.

“In these last few days, no matter what you’ve done or not done, no matter how much you’ve tried or not tried, no matter where you’re at — it’s not too late. For as long as you have life, you have purpose.”

As Ramadan wraps up, his message is simple: keep going. There’s still time and hope to make the most out of this auspicious month. “Tighten the belt, increase the effort, and increase the hope in Allah’s mercy, His forgiveness, and His acceptance.”
