The withdrawal of Apartheid Israel’s tormentor troops from Khan Younis, Gaza, Palestine, last weekend does not signal an end to the War of Extermination. Instead, occupation officials said, it was to prepare for an offensive in Rafah.

Following an assessment at the Occupation Forces’ southern command, defence minister Yoav Gallant said: “The forces came out [of Gaza] and are preparing for their future missions – we saw examples of such missions in action at Shifa [Hospital] – and also for their future mission in the Rafah area”.

This was despite a call on Thursday by the apartheid state’s chief enabler, the United States (US), to implement an “immediate ceasefire”.

As Gallant spoke, Palestinians endured six months of terror from “God’s chosen people”. Relentless bombardment claimed at least 30 000 lives, destroyed infrastructure and left Gaza in tatters – with no end in sight.

Immediate ceasefire

Plans to launch an offensive on Rafah, southern Gaza, home to more than a million people, come at a time when Israel faces outrage over deadly attacks on a convoy of the World Central Kitchen (WCK).

“The Americans realised that Netanyahu is doing everything in his power in order for him to destroy any chances of Americans having any kind of control over the outcomes of the war in Gaza,” noted journalist Dr Ramzy Baroud in response to Biden’s ceasefire call.

In a brief telephone call with Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden “underscored that an immediate ceasefire is essential to stabilise and improve the humanitarian situation and protect innocent civilians,” according to a readout supplied by the White House.

Baroud said Biden’s administration had known for a while that an unhinged Netanyahu was standing in the way of US plans in the Middle East. Until now, he said, the regime feared Israel might label it as a Hamas sympathiser.

But it had reached a point where the US’s reluctance to be dragged into a regional war prompted Biden’s ceasefire call. “Netanyahu has rejected every possibility. Not just that, he goes and he bombs the Iranian consulate in Damascus. You are killing diplomats and people within a protected, sovereign entity.”

“He [Netanyahu] wants to start a war that will end all wars … The Americans are scared because the Americans are neither ready nor desiring that kind of outcome,” he said.

Meanwhile, citing a senior Egyptian source, that country’s Al Qahera news outlet on Monday reported progress on truce talks in Cairo. The state-affiliated TV channel reported agreement on “basic points” between all parties.

Teams from the oppressor and oppressed spent the weekend in the Egyptian capital to discuss an end to the genocide in Gaza. Present at the encounter were the US’s CIA director William Burns and Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
