Ramadan 1438 Competition Ts and Cs

Please read the Terms and Conditions of our Ramadan Competition 1438 carefully before entering.

1. The Judges shall, unless provided otherwise in the competition instructions, be the Presenter on Salaamedia for the time being of the competition, and “Judges” herein shall mean such person or persons.
2. The Judge’s decision is final and binding on the ruling of all answers submitted during the competition.
3.  Judges shall have the right, at their discretion, to change the rules of a competition while it is running if it appears to them that it would be equitable or appropriate to do so, including the extension of time to answer a question.
4. All necessary steps will be taken to ensure the correctness of answers to questions and Salaamedia will not take responsibility for an incorrect answer.
5. The competition is open to all people.
6. Entrants should, if under 18, obtain permission in advance from their parent or guardian and be able to demonstrate that to the Judges’s satisfaction.
7. Employees of Salaamedia and Al Ansaar and members of the immediate family of the above people will not be eligible to participate.
8. All entries will be via telephone call to 010 822 2321.
9. Two entrants will be entered into the competition per day Monday to Thursday.
10. 5 questions will be asked to each entrant.
11. The one with the most correct answers wins the round. In the event of a tie, a sudden death round will take take place until one emerges as winner. The daily winners receive a copy of the book First Things First by Khalid Baig.
12. The winner of each day will be entered into the weekly completion on the Friday of that week. Two competitors will compete against each other until a winner emerges in the same format as above. The winner receives a portable car battery recharge system. The prize is as is supplied by a contributor and cannot be exchanged or refunded in any way.
13. The weekly winners will be entered into the final to take place on the last Friday of Ramadan 1438. The four weekly winners will compete against each other in pairs and then as a single pair.
14. The final prize is a return Umrah ticket during off peak periods.
15. The second prize is a portable air conditioning sytem.
16. Salaamedia reserves the right to publish the names of the winners and runners-up and participants.
17. There will be no cash or other alternative to the prize offered and prizes are not transferable.
18. Where applicable, prize winners will be responsible for organising valid passport(s) and for securing any necessary visas or complying with other regulations.
19. Salaamedia will not be liable for any circumstances beyond its reasonable control that prevent the competition being fulfilled, a winner or winners being chosen, or any prize being taken up or fully enjoyed by a winner.
20. Salaamedia excludes liability to the extent permitted by law for any cost, claims or losses howsoever caused that arise by reason of any person’s entry into a competition or the award, or non award, to them of a prize. In the event of any error, whether printing, technological or otherwise, which affects the competition in any way, the Judges reserve the right to administer the competition as though the error had not occurred.
21. If any winner of a competition is unable to take up a prize for any reason, or if Salaamedia has not been able, after making reasonable efforts, to make contact with the winner, Salaamedia reserves the right to award that prize (without notice to the first winner chosen) to an alternative winner, in which case the first winner chosen shall not be eligible for any share of the prize whatsoever. Salaamedia shall not have any liability in such eventuality.
