JOHANNESBURG – Civil rights group Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (OUTA) has criticised Government for not being clear on the fate of E-tolls, after Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula indicated that there is no intention to scrap the controversial system in the immediate future.
Speaking to Salaamedia, Chief Executive Officer at OUTA Wayne Duvenage said that the lack of transparency and information on the way forward for E-tolls in Gauteng has left people in confusion.
“This is the problem with our government; that they they do not provide the information. [With] the lack of transparency, they leave us confused,” he said.
Meanwhile, we patiently await @MbalulaFikile (numerous immanent) decision on the fate of the eToll debacle: Cracks appear in government’s e-toll user-pay principle #MoneywebNews https://t.co/dC4PqMGiXV via @Moneyweb
