by Thaabit Kamaar

Dr Mehreen Mia Cassimjee, the Facilitator of the MIA Program and CEO of MEA Company is driven by her strong desire to assist others. She firmly believes everyone possesses the inherent capacity and inner resilience to conquer challenges, provided they possess the right mindset.

As a result, she created the MIA Program, dedicated to nurturing the self-awareness and mindset of both women and children.

“My passion is especially for our women and our children. My absolute passion is to grow our women and our children within their minds and within themselves. Every one of us has that capability. We all have difficulties, and we all have adversities, but we need to learn the skills that we already have innate within us.”

The MIA Program, abbreviated as Motivate, Inspire, and Advance, is designed to impart valuable skills that foster self-awareness and cultivate a mindset conducive to personal growth. Its primary objective is to equip individuals with the necessary tools to improve themselves and make positive life strides.

How did the MIA Program Come to Be?

Dr Cassimjee states the program has been meticulously crafted and refined over an undisclosed span of years. Its implementation has primarily occurred in prominent countries such as India, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The program draws inspiration from Dr Cassimjee’s journey of triumphing over adversities and setbacks. With this in consideration, her endeavours to share the knowledge, lessons, and skills which empowered her to overcome her challenges.

What sets this program apart is its inherent versatility, as it does not confine itself to a specific subject matter. Instead, it has been meticulously crafted to address the unique needs of various age groups, encompassing individuals from the foundational stage and beyond, including adults and senior citizens.

“The MIA program is developed to go into the mindset of our children. Because why does a child have to become an adult? To go through difficulties in life, to learn how to life coaching, to learn how to be empowered. [That’s why it’s important] to learn these skills from earlier on so that whatever life throws at you, you know Allah is there for you, and these are the skills that you have within you to get you through it.”

How Can It Be Accessed?

While the program primarily operates in international locations, it offers convenient accessibility through online platforms. Dr Cassimjee mentioned they are currently working on integrating it into the South African schooling system, which would allow students to avail themselves of its advantages from a young age and not only children but educators included.

“In South Africa, we’re trying to filter it into different schooling systems. There’s also the Train the Teacher, the empowerment of teachers because teachers themselves also need help to cope nowadays.”

Individuals who express interest are encouraged to contact Dr Cassimjee directly. However, it is worth noting that Dr Cassimjee prefers not to engage directly with males of a specific age group. Nevertheless, she provides family-oriented sessions catering to all family members’ needs.
