Palestine – “As we walked to the mosque, I felt anxious and restless the entire way. The moment I crossed the boundary, a calm washed over me, which is when I realised my dream had come true. My yearning for Masjidul Aqsa is in fact a reality. As Brother Ayoob spoke to us about the significance of the visit, my emotions went on a roller coaster. I had to step away from the group to compose myself. I cried throughout the talk as I felt the oneness of Allah (SWT).”

These are the emotions felt by one member of the group tour, resonating with every soul present as they ventured into the revered Al-Aqsa compound. Their collective breaths caught in their throats as their eyes were drawn to the magnificent sight of the Dome of the Rock, its golden dome gleaming in the sunlight. Each footstep taken on the exquisite red carpet adorning Masjidul Aqsa was imbued with a deep sense of reverence, echoing the centuries of history and devotion that sanctified those sacred grounds.

Inside Masjidul Aqsa

“Visiting Masjidul Aqsa, there are no words to describe the feelings a person gets when setting foot here. Truly it is a visit that is warranted, something that is important. It holds a lot of values that truly deserve to be more recognised,” In a voice laden with emotion, Yusuf Lambat shared this sentiment, each word dripping with profound significance, underlining the immense importance of the journey.

For Ponty Moletsane, this journey holdd a significance that runs deeper than words could ever convey. For two decades, he had been the chronicler of events unfolding within the sacred precincts of Masjidul Aqsa and Palestine. To find himself standing there, in the very heart of Al-Aqsa’s courtyard, evoked an emotion beyond description. It is a moment that has been etched in his soul.

“Seeing Masjidul Aqsa, just entering the courtyard, I had a feeling of spiritual elevation, something that I have been reading about for almost 20 years. The thought of people laying down their lives, especially women folk, in the defence of Masjidul Aqsa, is something unimaginable. The unexplainable, unimaginable feeling of standing in the same place where the Ambiyaa (AS) and Sahabah (RA) stood.”
