by Salaamedia

12 February 2018

It’s always been a pleasure passing through Polokwane. The town and its people have been welcoming to Salaamedia and its team and with the live broadcast of Salaamedia content now playing on 88.8FM in the city this has effectively become a second home.

Bariqal Amal, a community forum based in Nirvana, a suburb of Polokwane, hosted an exciting community ride of about 11km where youngsters and experienced riders alike set off the #Riding4SAeducation campaign.

A visit has also been scheduled to the Nirvana Primary School. Here the intention is to deliver a set of soccer balls and a netball kit as requested by the school for their learners. The school is under severe pressure with huge class number of up 50 and above.

The #Ridisng4SAeducation project hosted by Salaam Foundation and supported with riders from Islamic Relief South Africa, Africa Muslims Agency, Nyota Collections and Al Ihya Foundation is set to continue from Polokwane to Mokopane and onward on a 1160km journey to some of the poorest and most rural parts of South Africa to highlight the need for better education in the country.

They will also raise funds to continue and establish education projects through their own individual programmes. From water and sanitation projects in schools, to orphans support projects, feeding hungry learners and stationery drives, we call on you to support our initiative.
